Question:
I'm looking for a new hobby! Based on my interests, do you have any suggestions?

I'm 23 years old (female) and I work full time but because of our schedules, I only see my friends about once a week if I'm lucky, and so a lot of the time I am home alone. I am looking for a new hobby to keep me occupied but I need some suggestions!

Right now, I very much enjoy writing short stories and poems and reading. I'm very creative and have tried scrapbooking, journaling, drawing, and painting, but I am not very good at the last two. I've tried baking but I have a huge sweet tooth and tendency to over-indulge so I don't want to bake that often. I used to be very into long distance running (I would run 40+ miles a week) but it's hard to motivate myself to run after a 9 hour work day. I do wish to be more active though.

I suggest you further your own hobbies by making either cards from your drawings by buying a good quality art book paper and create your painting on the front as well as fold them and do beautiful writing inside of just simple verses, like... Have a GREAT Day!, Thinking of YOU today. .

Or just do miniature painting where frames are not expensive to either

sell yourself or donate to any place that holds benefits (Churches, women shelters, civic "in the park open air shows" etc. if you make too many to hang yourself. You don't have to toot your own horn but IF someone sees you jotting down the sayings during your lunch time and asks what are you doing tell them they may be interested enough to want to buy them from you. However, don't offer during work hours just let them see one almost finished. One just getting put together may do it!

You can at least cover the costs to continue to make more to fill your time that way if you don't want large profits! Just either do your Monogram on the bottom or the back of cards. Hand Painted by ......etc. and date them too!

Some people will even want more than one so at least try to change the scenes by as much as if you could lay them out and it would be a whole street. Different houses with different gardens or add benches or if you only like flowers paint different ones of those on each. GOOD LUCK!

Bouldering. It requires determination and logic to be great at bouldering, it helps keep you in shape, uses pretty much all your muscles and is great fun.

It's similar to climbing but without a harness, the walls are about 12ft high and the floor is like a massive sponge. It is also available at gyms all over the country. It will challenge your mind and body, and has a very high satisfaction level, you really see and feel yourself progressing.

Also the challenge it places on your mind, the ability to think on the spot, plan routes and make use of every movement you make would help improve your minds efficiency and increase your creativity, which would help you improve on your writing etc. Give it a shot :)

(p.s. with the amount of exercise you'll get, having a sweet tooth won't matter)

I would suggest jewelry making. I can have a simple necklace and earrings in about an hour, if I do not dawdle around. There are a few supplies to buy, then the stuff for the necklace, etc. You need a layout board, jewelry wire, crimp beads, a clasp, and beads, and jewelry pins and posts or wires for the earrings. You need an wire cutter, with the blades offset, a cone shaped pliers, and some crimping pliers.

Another cute thing is to buy some of those clear glass ornaments. Fill them with anything you want, confetti would come to mind. Or paint them. Take a little acrylic paint, and pour some inside of the ornament, just a little, and turn the ornament to swirl the pain. Use one, or many colors, just let it dry between colors. For both of these projects, think "cheap gift.'

do you sew? So many cute things to make in the pattern books. Everything from stuffed animals, to hats, to baby items, to costumes. Your local fabric stores has everything you need, and mine has crafts, too.

I would suggest going to a craft store, like Michael's or Hobby Lobby and see what they have, and what looks interesting.

I make wreaths for the front door, baskets of flowers, I sew, I do jewelry, I crewel, embroider, craft, and on and on.

You might like to try a treadmill or some other 'at home' exercise equipment. Sounds more like you are lonely as well as bored. I think you might like to look at a Wii U (nintendo console) and Wii fit U package. You wouldn't have to worry about long runs or motivation, because you could just play for a few minutes if that's all you wanted to do. And, you can get on the nintendo network and talk to the wii fit U group.

I am very suspicious of people who are looking for hobbies. I would never look for a hobby. I had hobbies and took them seriously, but they found me. But, based on what you say you need something athletic but easy. I wouldn't call that a hobby. Okay, photography. Image. Another possibility. But nowadays everyone is a photog so it loses some cache. Belly Dancing, another good one. Wood Burning!

When you can talk the talk any telephone Yellow Pages have

Related job areas include but are not limited to construction

trades, emergency services, industry painting, logging, etc.

I would suggest reading, if you're not interested in that, playing Pokemon competitively takes up a lot of time trying to breed for IVs and/or training EVs.

Why not start an informal walking group including stops for taking photos, discussing, sketching monuments of interest. With summer coming this might be a way of combining interests and meeting new people, making friends etc.

Sewing is a good hobby. I've made drapes for friends, made slipcovers for my own furniture and felt like I had new stuff, Have made myself dozens of the new long vests so outfits can be different every single day. Making quilts is nice for your friends.

Notaphily is one of my hobbies, I am referred to as "Notaphilist"

Notaphily is the collection and study of banknotes from around the world, I enjoy collecting banknotes from around the world, as the bright colours and history really intrigue me. I have an A5 album which is filled with banknotes from Saudi Arabia, Yugoslavia, I even have some notes from Zimbabwe.

Collecting banknotes can be sourced from your local bureau de change, they have currencies ranging from Saudi Riyal to Turkish Lira to Polish Zloty, and if you'd like notes from different era's of time, eBay is a great place. If you'd like any more info, please do not hesitate to contact me. Email - theunknown556@yahoo.com

Working on cars, kayaking, hiking, biking anything outdoors. Technology has made people into indoor hermits. Don't go for video games, they will suck the life right out of you. Also girls don't find this hobby particularly attractive. Very childish to most. Trust me I know this. lol

Stained glass is a challenge. Believe it or not, but knitting is a really big challenge and you get a lot of unique clothes out of it and it is much harder than anybody gives it credit for. Crocheting. Swimming, Zumba,

This is an unusual answer but, try something new...(sexual) If you are home alone. For example try, I don't know... Diapers, or nudism or ANYTHING! Just go out and buy A **** tone of diapers and test them out. A lot of people say they like them. Try inculding them in daily routines and try challenging yourself.

If you like writing have you ever considered starting a blog? It can be a personal one about whatever pops into your head or it could be about something you like to do, like maybe about poems?
