So, I managed to get a sign, formerly pointing out an event, but which I thought I could put to other uses. There was a wooden post, a flat wooden board, and then the part which was flat, and felt to the touch kind of like a dry-erase board. The back side was even white, so I wrote on it, and it came off with a little effort when I tried erasing. Problem was, when I let the marker stay on for a little while, it stops coming off so easily. I guess it was some sort of plastic. Anyways, I need to get the Dry erase off of it so I can use it again, does anyone know of something that can do that?

You can try rubbing alcohol or the Dry Erase spray remover (you can pick that up at an office supply store). Another trick that has worked for me in the past is to re-write over the original mark with a Dry Erase marker and then erase it like it was a new one.

Try fresh dry erase marker over top of the old, then wipe off. Do a small patch test first. I've cleaned whiteboards with old dry erase on them that way.

I use rubbing alcohol and a lot of elbow grease.

They also sale a product in the stores specifically for dry erase markers. Try the alcohol first.

Another product is nail polish remover.

Good luck.

There are a number of solvents that will work safely. One, is rubbing alcohol, another is hand sanitizer, and the other one that worked effectively for me was Goo Gone.
