I would like to get my mother a couple of books about card making for Christmas, but I don't know much about it, and want to get her a good one. Suggestions?

I love card making - there are a couple of good books that you can check out ratings for on Amazon, but I would suggest getting your mom a subscription to a card making magazine!

That way each month or so she can find new ideas and a lot of the card making magazines take on different card themes depending on what time of the year it is. Also, Amazon has some good deals as far as magazines go.

Books are great but you will find that they out date quickly and once you have tried the ideas you may not refer back to it in future.

I like to purchase magazines instead (rubber stamping / scrapbooking maazines) - they have current ideas and projects and you can get a few for the price of one book. They also list web sites etc for companies you may not know about - and they often have galleries and ideas sections.

Happy card making!

I'm getting more into cardmaking myself and have noticed several books on it at Hobby Lobby. If she enjoys making cards then it's the PERFECT gift (other than maybe a cardmaking kit/bundle). If you go online this week you can get something for 40% off each day. Actually, the coupon is for in-store as well.
