My mom and I are in the beginning process of opening up a LYS (local yarn shop). It will have all kinds of knittng supplies, different kinds of yarn, patterns, and classes. The only thing we are having problems w/ is a name! any suggestions?
Thanks!!

You can always go with your names yarn shop or craft shop or some such...that isn't all that fun...Then there is the clever play on words. something like knit fit (ryhme) or Purls of Wisdom (totally stole that from a friend). OF course there is the cutsy name something like warm and fuzy or wolly knits. I would say make it catchy but at the same time something that makes people think of what your company is going to do, though it may be best have a name that even new knitters could think of. Good luck!

I didn't know a yarn shop had earned itself an acronym, weird.
I'd call it Best Laid Skeins (like skeins of yarn) after the Ogden Nash quote Best laid schemes o' mice and men gang aft aglee.

It's called a spindle. This is a two hand operation. Then there's the spinning wheel which is more complicated.
