What home craft projects can I do with beer bottles or beer caps? Preferably for a more interior design project.

This takes a lot of patience but when you are done it really looks nice. You are going to need a couple of cases of empty beer bottles! I made many tables for my apartment before I was married.
Depending on what shape you want - square-circle will make a difference in how you construct the table.
Square- figure out the size you want and line up the bottles accordingly eg: eight by eight. glue them together side by side using "Gorilla Glue". Let them dry for several hours then start the second tier. Gluing the bottom to the top of the one underneath and the sides of the next bottle. I did three layers. Then I bought a piece of glass or you can use wood and made the top. They make great end tables and are a great conversation piece. Did you drink all that beer? How long did it take you to drink all that beer?
Use the same principle for making a circle end table.
It's fun but you have to make sure you have the same size bottles for it to work.

Beer bottles can be melted in a kiln to make flat serving plates for wind and cheese parties, or ashtrays. You can cut out the bottoms and work them into a stained glass pattern.
Beer Caps, like you pop off the bottles can be filled with fun beads and glitter and filled with resin glaze for wonderful jewelry pieces Be sure to punch a small hole for hanging.
Beer Cans can be split open and used as patchwork around a picture frame. Cut the pieces as accurately as you can into squares, rectangles and such and then patchwork cover the entire frame with the pieces using tiny nails.

You can cover the ceiling in bottle caps, or the walls. It'll take awhile but It looks good. You can even use different brands/colors and design something in the beer caps.

Maybe cover a little night table with them, and put a piece of glass over it. Get a shdow box and put some of the more interesting ones in it along with maybe a lable off the bottle. As far as cash, have her call your local recycling place. They will tell her the details about taking them in for cash.
