In my area we have craft and fabric stores like Micheals and Joann Fabrics that carry all kinds of beading books for beginners..(I have so many that I have collected over the years that it would take along time to list them here..) a web site that I really like is Fire Mountain Gems. They carry books and supplies for making jewelry of every level ,,from simple and inexpensive items that small children can make to items for the professional jewelry designer... go to www.firemountaingems.com Good luck and Happy beading!

You could go to Fire Mountain Gems' website and check out their free online instructions. Many other bead sites have step-by-step instructions as well. Also, at book stores & craft stores, there are many different beading magazines. So if you don't want to spend too much on a book, you can buy a magazine for a few bucks instead.

Basics of Bead Stringing by Debbie Kanan is a good book. A good website is http://jewelrymaking.about.com/od/beginnerscorner/Beginners_Corner.htm

There are some books, DVDs, and online information on Make Something's site.

And there are also instructions available for their kits to make it easy.
