Pottery, ceramics, jewellery making course, photography, art, book club, yoga, salsa, tango, pole dancing lessons, belly dancing, gym classes, gym, language course, flower arranging course. The list is endless, maybe you should enrol at your local college for a part time course.

It would help to have some kind of frame to work around... Do you want to be active and outgoing or do you want a more leisurely hobby, that kind of thing.

without anything to go by I can say that these are the hobbies that I personally enjoy - Rugby, Pool/snooker (mainly pool), going to the gym (it's only really fun if you're with people but it's good to go whatever), kayaking and woodwork/gardening.

Other hobbies that look quite good but I have never properly taken part in are climbing, swimming (I can swim well I just don't do it often), horse based things. Maybe you could try doing a martial art or something. Without some kind of starting point I really don't know.

If you want something out of the ordinary then why not try Glass painting. I find this a relaxing and very rewarding hobby,

When i started i got a small kit from hobbycraft that contained everything i needed to make 5 suncatchers (these are hung on the curtain rail in my lounge and look very pretty when the sun shines through them) I then went on to paint my own designs on the outside of several nightlight holders.

my disability day centre then asked me to give them a demonstration and following this i was then asked to paint a sign onto one of the glass windows of the day centre,

I am now being asked by a party planner to design a motif for the wine glasses she will be using for her events,

so you can see this somewhat unusual hoby has turned into a rather unexpected business oportunity,

and yesterday i was asked by a local cafe if i could possibly design a new sign for them to hang in their window.

so why not have a go at Glass paintng.

I now get all my glass painting materials, paints, outlining paint tubes, and brushes from a company called "Smitkits" this is based in Aldershot in hampshire and run a mail ordering set up from their website www.smitkits.com.

even if glasspainting is not for you then a look through their website might assist you in choosing a new hobby.

Try coin collecting. It doesn't have to cost you a lot. You can go to the bank and pick of a box of coin (whichever denomination you like) for exactly face value. You can go through and pull out the better ones (there are books to help with this or websites).

The coins that you don't want can be returned to the bank and put straight back into your account (though it's often better to return the coins to a different bank (not just a different branch but a different bank) so that you don't search the same boxes over and over).

Some things to search for: wheat pennies, silver dimes, silver quarters, old coins, error coins, etc.

Depends on your, age, fitness, fast or slow hobbies, from keep fit and rambling, photography, to sitting down and reading or painting a watercolour. Local college may be able to help with all sorts of courses, some of them free. Use your imagination, let your mind wander and something might cross your mind that is of interest to you as an individual.

best of luck. Don't be bored, think of something.

If you are looking nice ideas for woodworking i can suggest you to check here ( woodworkingplans.kyma.info ) It's perfect if you are just starting out or if you're a seasoned carpenter. you will like it for sure! It has almost 20.000 woodworking plans and you have a CAD/DWG software to view and edit the plans. You have step-by-step instructions with photos and high quality blueprints and schematics. If you are a beginner this is the easiest way to start your woodworking projects, and if you already have experience you can anyway find a lot of interesting ideas!
