I am currently working an afghan pattern that calls for making an hourglass shape with the Main color and the Contrasting color, it will end up being an Ohio star pattern when all the squares are connected. This is supposedly an easy pattern but I am having nothing but problems! It always comes out lopsided and I get confused with all the loose ends hanging out of the square. Any advice?

ok what you do is crichet main color towhere you have to stop. cut the yarn and right by the loop as close as you can to the afghan. the pull out 3 stitches tie your contrasting color to the end of the main color and continue working.

Cut it where your contrasting color starts. Tie a knot with the new color. Begin crocheting with your new color in that loop.

try www.about.com, and search changing colors in crochet. There are some very good tutorials and things to help you in crocheting. Good luck!
