What types of programmes are out there and which is the best to buy? Is this what Buzz tool does?

Buzz Tools has more than one software program.

There is a free software download that I have used many times for conversion of machine embroidery formats.

For your embroidery machine, you can convert a PCS design to PES or any other format (except ART) by using Pulse Ambassador.

Open the design you want to convert and then and SAVE as "name of design" and choose the format, PES.

You cannot change the file format that your embroidery machine reads. However, embroidery designs may be reformatted (from .PCS to .PES in your case). A .pcs file is an older Pfaff machine format. The .pes format can be ready by several brands of machines including Babylock, Bernina and others.

BuzzTools, Embird, and 4D Embroidery are well-known examples of embroidery software used by many home and professional embroiderers. I am very familiar with the 4D Embroidery software (sold through Pfaff and Husqvarna/Viking sewing dealers). It will do the file format conversions in 4D Organizer. In this software, you would select the .pcs file, choose Convert Embroidery, and then select the new format you want to would like the design in (.pes). Nice and easy!
