Does anyone collect buttons?

I collect old buttons, new buttons, gold and silver, ornamental, interesting and weird. Anyone know some good places offline or online to get these? Thank you for your help!!!

I love the black shiny glass buttons that came off of Victorian-era shoes. You can find those at antique malls all the time for very low prices, or on eBay if you can afford them there.



Michaels has some interesting buttons, though they're plastic, but I use them to make button Christmas trees for holiday gifts.



I made my 80 year old mother one last year with Michaels buttons for the base and costume jewelry that my Mom and her family have had for decades, so she can look at it and think of old memories from times she and her friends wore those things.



Sorry, got off topic there, but it is a good way to put your buttons on the wall to look at!

I was inches away from buying a button collecting book at the Peddler's Mall in Louisville last weekend! I do believe it'd be an interesting hobby! I'd never be able to spot the rare ones though, I'd end up w/ a few boxes of ones that I just dug. Thought about puttin some into my soaps though!

Coooooooooooolllll, forgot to put that on my profile, thanks for the reminder. I have an old tin from my Great, Great Grandmother who started the collection, then to my Grandmother, then to my mom. I must have over 5000 of them. There are some that are military, some shaped into hearts, flowers, butterflies, some are onyx, some are weird shaped.... all unique in their own right. Love em' ♥

well we used to. I have like a jar full of tons of them that are like all different shapes and colors and animals. Some are like keys and some are like fences - ha. I haven't look at them in like a year and a half though. I think my mom collected those, but I added a few in there.

i love buttons! i colect them all the time, You can get them from the dollar store or from Wal-Mart for $1
