Does anyone make puppets? or know where I can get custom made ones?

Hey does anyone know where I can get custom made puppets, like the puppets you see on the muppets. I want to get a custom made puppet version of myself and my friend so we can put on a skit. I also want different types besides the puppet versions of ourselves. So if anyone knows where I can get puppets like that, that would be great.

This would be a custom order. Many puppet makers do 'caricature' puppets - that is, they take a photo of a real person and then turn it into a puppet - and this is what you need. A few people I know (but there are more) who do this type of thing:

Unfortunately, any puppet that is custom made will NOT be cheap. Making a puppet, particularly one custom made and based on an image you provide, is a very labour intensive job, and people underestimate how much it costs. You can either have a puppet that looks like what the picture is of for a decent amount of money (several hundred dollars at least); or you can have it look crap and be cheap. If you want to find more puppet makers, I'd recommend visiting sites like http://www.puppethub.com or http://www.puppetsandstuff.com or Etsy.com (do a search for puppets), as that's where most puppet makers seem to do their chatting/advertising. Alternatively, you can contact your local UNIMA branch at http://www.unima.org - the international organisation for puppeteers - there are branches in most countries.
