i want to make crochet earrings. I want to crochet inside a round 2-3 inch earring hoop. So that the crochet is attached to the hoop, inside, in a pretty open weave pattern. Like a mini suncatcher. how do you crochet the thread so that it attaches to and goes around the hoop? i dont want to crochet in the round, i want to crochet the pattern INSIDE so that it wraps around or attaches at various points (like 10 or so) around the loop (hoop). i cant find any info or patterns.

Here are some instructions for crocheting around a hair binder so the binder is inside. It would be the same instructions for attaching your crochet to your hoop earring.

I can think of 2 ways that might work. Crochet from the middle out like a doily and connect at the points you wish with a single crochet. Or tie your thread on and single crochet around the loop and when you get to the end push all the tops of the stitches to the inside. Then connect at the desired points with chain stitches for the mesh and slip stitches into the desired single crochets. Hope this helps.

Im not sure on how to crochet the actual design, but to join the actual crochet to the hoops you could attach as many chains as you need with a single crochet or slip stitch.

Have you joined Ravelry? Im sure you could find something, maybe even a pattern on there.

It is a Crochet/knitting community and you have to be on a wait list for a couple days, but it is addicting and well worth it once your in. You can find all kinds if free patterns and see finished patterns 1,000's f people have already made.

Hope that helps.

You can start from the outside and work to the centre, or you can start in the centre and work out to the edge. Both of these will have a slightly different finish on the outside ring, and both will look just as nice.

You will be working with very fine thread I imagine, so the big problem would be just handling the yarn and needle. But once you got started, it would be easy enough to do -- with really good light and good eyes! It would look really great, I think.

I would suggest starting from the inside working out toward the hoop. Once your piece was the size you need you would attach at the intervals you wanted to the hoop.

Good luck!

I would suggest slip-stitiching the whole way around so that you have a lot of loops to go off of. You could just roll the slip-stitches inward, and you'll be able to attach your new stitches to these loops. Otherwise, I suppose you could hot-glue, but that could get really sloppy..
