I am looking to make some fun "fake" lotery tickets for a baby shower. However, I cannot figure out how to make the scratch part. I have thought of using crayons and acrylic paint, but I want to print the "ticket" from my computer and add the "scratch stuff" onto a printed image. Please help!

My best guess would be to use crayon over the printed page

just keep rubbing a bunch of gray or any other color that looks like the scratch stuff my friend did that for fun (random doodle)and then used a dime to scratch it off and it looked really neat

You actually have a really good idea already. If you've ever paid attention to the real ones, the scratch part is always above a laminated or smooth part of the paper. This probably has to do with what the scratch part is made out of. As far as I can tell, your idea will work wonderfully.

why dont you use a tothpick or some other sharp object to indent the paper, and have them color in the section with a crayon. the crayon will go ev erywhere but where you wrote.

like an inverted scratcher =]

what you have suggested is a good idea but if you are trying to fool someone go to a local craft store they should sale something like gold leafing which is a fine gold film, but in silver you would probably be able to find what you need there. they also have several paints that might work also
