what is a scary costume idea?

I'm going to Fx show and comicon and want a really scary costume that i can start to MAKE not buy any ideas?
P.S. i like to try to be in character when in costume.
P.S.S. I dont want something that was done already in a movie
P.S.S.S. I also like wearing masks of some sort so i can close my eyes as people are making fun of me.

i thought of a couple of ideas... there is a witch, a wild woman, ( messy hair, dirty face) monster (medusa, vampire, ghost etc..) blood and gore seem popular and fun to play with so zombie is also a scary option. Ha, you can really scare some of the guys by dressing up as a the ghost bride and look for your "forever" man. either way, you can find pretty much whatever you need at a Goodwill or thrift shop. have a great time.

Try a "trash"former.

Its not scary, but you can startle people if it's done right.

Take a large new garbage bin or recycle bin and cut out the bottom and cut out the sides for arm holes and reattach them on hinges.

Stand in a corner and close it all up and when some one mistakes you for a reg. bin, scare them.
