I am wondering this cause, i have to hang 11 christmas wreaths on the front of my house for all 11 windows. If I use a magnet will it stick to the glass window? its a single pane window. We live in PA. Weather here will be from the 20's to teens throughout the holidays. Do you think the magnets will hold the wreaths?

Hi:

No they they won't work , However if you tape a iron or steel bar to the glass and then put your magnets on it, than yes it would work but this I think this would work better for you:

buy 11 small eye screw bolts and than find the center and mark the center in the top of your window and screw one eye bolt screw in for each window there than hang or add some wire to the wreath to put it where you want it to go

If you can't do that than? Get some tape and tape the wreath where you want it to be. ( best to do on the inside of the window than the outside due moisture ruining the tape and allow your wreath to fall

down. )

I hope this helps

Try these suggestions:

Using Ribbons, Florist Wire Or Fishing Line to Hang Wreaths on Windows

Put a piece of ribbon, florist wire or fishing line through the top of the wreath forming a loop and tie a knot at the end. The length of the ribbon will depend on your windows and at what length you want the wreaths to hang.

Now lower the top window sash enough to slip your wreath out. A nail or a screw cup if you want a nail, in the top edge of your interior window casing will hold your ribbon or wire loop. You could also loop the ribbon around your window latch and then shut it close. The ribbon or wire gets hidden from inside by curtains and wire and fishing line do not show outside.

Using Hooks

Command Hooks or nails on the top of your windows are an easy option to hang wreaths from. In fact, nails driven into walls once, will make hanging wreaths a breeze every year. Paint the nails the color of your walls to hide them. Then, hang the wreaths using fishing line or wire.

Suction cups are the key to success for glass windows! Always use suction cups to help support the wreath. One suction cup per wreath is usually enough but depending upon the quality you get, upto four suction cups will help divide the weight of the wreath and also prevent the wreath from getting blown away or banging your windows at night.

I bought the magnet hangers last year, but it didn't work on my windows. We have double pane glass so the windows are too thick for the 2 magnets to attract each other and make a good seal. Since you have single pane windows the magnets may work, I'm not too sure. If they do end up working, I think it should hold despite the low temps.

maybe if you put magnets on both sides so they are attracted to eachother but 1 magnet alone wont do much. Good luck.
