Usually Jo-Ann's is cheaper. They often have kits available with a lot of colors. If you want to buy individual colors -- it is often on sale and you can pick up a bunch at 3 / $1. Go on-line if you are not already a customer and print off the 40% off coupon. Depending on the clerk, they may give you the discount for all embroidery floss you buy at one time.

I don't think you can find it cheap any where for new floss. The major stores, like Hobby Lobby and Michael's and Joann's all have sales where you are able to get it for about 34 cents a skein . Watch for their sale ads on their internet sites. Also, Joann's and Hobby Lobby have 40 per cent off sales. You can buy the prepackaged assortment then and save a lot. Go to estate, garage, tag, and rummage sales. Sometimes you can get some at a very good price, but make sure it isn't so old it has rotted.

In the Philly suburbs where I live, Joann's charges $0.37 per skein and Michael's charges $0.35 (and ACMoore, which is a regional chain, charges $0.36.) Really $0.02 isn't much of a difference, so I'd suggest you go to which ever store is more conveniently located.

It depends.I've seen it cheaper at both stores at different times. I usually wait until there's a sale and then stock up. You could check out their online sites, but the store prices can differ. Probably, better to just call them. Also sometimes one store or the other is out of the color I want. Fortunately both stores are near me and near each other, so I usually just go to both and compare.

They are about the same price, but each store has periodic sales. You need to contact the stores or go to their websites to find out when they have their sales.

They are owned by the same company. So it dont matter.
