I have seen iron on transfer paper for your printer at office supply stores. Never tried them so I am not sure if the are high quality. If you are using a fabric patch, maye fusible interfacing would work. I am not too sure about that though.

I usually Buy a peice of Fabric with something on it that I like, Teddy Bears for example. Lightly Bastethen Iron to set to some Duo Sided Interfacing, Iron it on to what ever I want it on then Buttonhole Stich around the entire Patch so that it stays on the item it was meant for.
