My daughter is going to be 10 in May, and am throwing a huge party. Need ideas. Renting a jumping castle, castle shaped cake, face painting, foam swords, crowns, wands, balloons, streamers, pinata, gold coins in mini treasure chests, I need game ideas, and creative decorations. I can paint well, so homemade stuff is a breeze.

I always checked books out of the library and then modified the games I thought might be fun. Just off the top of my head, a "grail relay" might be fun -- decorated water cups, they have to run back an forth without spilling all the water...

Maybe a game where each couple of kids get a roll of aluminum foil and have to make the best "armor"? (we did this for a party only it was toilet-paper wrapped mummies).

Maybe a beanbag toss game (toss the dragon into the cave, or the princess into the tower)

I'm sure you can think of others. Your public library is a great resource.

Dang, your party sounds like fun!

Instead of foam swords you could cut out sword shapes out of cardboard ( or wood if you want) and let the kids decorate them with glitter, paint, tinfoil ect. but you may want to make them stronger. Instead of pin the tail on the donkey it could be pin the sword on the knight. You could do a treasure hunt but make it find the dragons treasure ( or something similar).
