My best friend has the previous version of this machine called the Singer CE 100. I have threaded hers before and it can be a pain in the rear. I will try to help you if I can.
If you get thread nesting, it's usually caused by a needle problem or the bobbin case is not seated correctly. If you break upper thread its usually top thread tension problems caused by not having the thread threaded properly or your tension is set too high. Since you have an E setting on your tension dial, I would set it there to start with.
Lets start with the upper thread. Usually when your top thread keeps breaking it is a tension issue. Your machine has a challenging top threading system. First, make sure you are using the back thread spool holder...not the one located on the front top that lays flat. That one is for winding the bobbin only.
On the back right corner (when facing the machine) you will find another spool holder, put your thread there and then pull up the metal hook in front of it and run your thread through it. Next, you MUST get the thread all the way into the first catch (the plastic clearish looking area) hold your thread like tooth floss and slide it in until it clicks in. It has to catch or you will simply shred your top thread and it will break. After that, it's pretty easy to thread the rest.
If you have already done all of this properly, make sure your bobbin thread is facing the correct way. It should be coming off the left side (when looking down into the drop in bobbin holder) and then wrapping around the tiny metal bar in the bobbin case and up to the left side. If this is correct then you should be set.
Hope this was helpful. Good Luck!
