what are different storage ideas for scrapbooking stuff?

What is the most effective means of storage for all scrapbooking items...embelishments, scissors, paper, etc.

Go to Walmart

I bought a 4 shelf plastic unit under 20.00

Top shelf holds my papers. Go to stationary dept, get magazine holders. Over in the Craft aisle you will find 12x12 plastic paper holders. I have about a dozen of these to seperate paper by colors/holidays etc. Stand them up in the magazine holders

Fishing/tackle section..Get a tackle box, they have ones that have plastic storage boxes that fit inside.

Also in the craft department, usually by the beads, they have dozens upon dozens of plastic storage boxes. I love the box that has 24 flip top boxes inside, perfect for eyelets and brads.

Go through stationary. They have 2-6+ folder/letter holders, perfect for stickers, and since they "layer" you can see them all.

If you have space, think about a "Man's" tool box, the floor models. I dont go out to go scrapbooking so dont really need the suitcase on wheels. You can find these for about 50.00+ Mine holds my Sizzix machine, dyes, the drawers pull out and in there i keep my dozens upon dozens of paper punchies, another drawer pulls out to hold my dozens of rubber stamps. More room for glue sticks, pens/pencils/chalks/scissors in a small amount of space

I use recipe boxes also to store die cuts

I've found a useful storage container for many of my scrapbooking tools, embellishments and smaller items is a toolbox. There are many neat toolboxes out there that have all sorts of compartments it them. Most are quite inexpensive and compact so they hide away easily. You'd be surprised by how much you can fit into a well organized toolbox. And it make scraping so much easier, because you know where everything is. Also, places like Walmart carry small cases for beading in their fabric department where they have their small packages of jewelery beads. They work well for brads and eyelets and small things like that. For 12x12 paper, the best thing I've found is the holders that they sell at scrapbook shops that are made for that size paper. Get ones that are rigid and can hold up to 100 pages, so that your papers don't get damaged.

Rubbermaid containers come in various sizes so that will help you. Also, I have a 7 drawer case that has 2 big drawers on the bottom, 3 medium sized ones and 2 small ones that I put scrapbook materials in as well.

You can put the paper in big ziploc bags and use hangers that have clips so you can see everything or get an accordion file especially for scrapbook papers to arrange them.

well my friend is a big scrapbooker and she has like a 10 foot wall for space to scrapbook.. she has like mailboxes like kids have in school for their mailboxes. and hse has the whole back of the wall with that and it is like 3 feet high. and then she has a counter off of that.. and then stoprage underneath.. its really cool and i love it but if that doesnt work, then buy the rubermaid containers and label them with like stickers, paper, templates, tools, etc.

you can get large bags and boxes now to hold 12x12 paper in them, most craft shops should sell them,
