I love to knit but since moving from Fort Wayne Indiana to Dallas Texas, I am having a hard time finding things to knit besides dishcloths.

You can knit bikinis (very popular in the 70's!), halter tops, light weight shawls, toys, pillow covers, doll clothes, tea cozies, cell phone holders, guitar straps, loads of things!

Try watching Knitty Gritty on DIY too...they always have unusual projects on and they have lots of patterns & ideas online:

After you've lived in Texas for a couple of years you'll probably start getting cold in winter, so go ahead and knit whatever you want! I live in Los Angeles and my long-sleeved sweaters are more in demand than anything else. I also knit tanks and sleeveless things, felted bags and totes, cotton socks, chemo caps and lacy scarves.

Lacy sleeveless shells in a fingering weight cotton, or cotton rayon blend. Those would be cool. Naturally any home decor items, or personal items such as purses.

Other garments for layering, like vests or cardigans that can be removed.

There is a very nice lightweight beachcomber sweater on Freepattern.com, and lots of other really great ideas.

you could knit bags. Bags are always useful.
