So, it's my mom's birthday in August but since she's away right now I'd like to start working on a homemade present for her. I have LOTS of duct tape but I have already made her a bouquet of duct tape flowers so I am out of ideas :/
Please don't say:
a card/letter/poem
picture frame
drawing
I don't plan on going out to get materials but I already have various crafty things (although I lack paint)
*Bonus Question*= any recipes for a dessert I could make on her birthday?

This is a good site for crafts - http://familycrafts.about.com/od/giftstomake/tp/HomeMadeGiftIdeas.htm

A nice recipe for her birthday would be mocha cupcakes with whipped cream. You need:

2 tbsp instant espresso coffee powder

6 tbsp unsalted butter

6 tbsp superfine sugar

1 tbsp honey

1 cup water

2 tbsp baking soda

1 large egg, slightly beaten

FOR THE TOPPING:

1 cup whipped cream

unsweetened cocoa, sifted, for dusting

Preheat the oven to 350 F/180 C. Put 20 paper liners in 2 muffin pans, or put 20 double layer paper cases on 2 cookie sheets.

Put the coffee powder, butter, sugar, honey, and water in a saucepan and heat gently, stirring, until the sugar has dissolved. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and let simmer for 5 minutes. Pour into a large heatproof bowl and let cool.

When the mixture has cooled, sift in the flour and cocoa. Dissolve the baking soda in the milk, then add to the mixture along with the egg and beat together until smooth. Spoon the batter into the paper cases.

Bake the cupcakes in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until risen.

For the topping, whip the cream in a bowl until it holds its shape. Just before serving, dollop the cream onto the tops of the cupcakes and dust lightly with cocoa.
