I suggest checking out the Birthday Card gallery on Splitcoaststampers: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showgallery.php?si=birthday&x=0&y=0

This site provides a number of great, homemade birthday cards, and I'm sure you can great ideas from those on the site. As well, you can always join the site and ask on the forums, specifying what supplies you have and the other members can help you.

Close to my Heart offers a card program with full cutting guidelines and multiple ways of putting it together to recreate the card again with a different look. Definitely a great tool to have on hand for when you have hit a creative block. Feel free to email me if you have questions about it. Stamp321@cfl.rr.com

I just made one for my Mom by getting my out of state brothers to each scan and email a hand written message. I then combined them with a collage of pics laying around from my digital camera. I did it all on MS Publisher or Word I can't remember which, and the cost was only like $.50 for a print-shop to print it on cardstock.

I love making homemade birthday cards, too! What about making a collage card? You can find pictures/images about your birthday friend's favorite hobbies/music/travel places, etc... or you can make a birthday collage card about their actual birth date!

I just made my sister a birthday card collage. I made a card collage dedicated to just her birthday (November 2nd) -- so I included pictures/images about her zodiac sign, Chinese sign, birthstone, birthday flower, etc...it made things really personalized just to her birthday and she loved it!

Here's a pic on my website of her card:

It doesn't take a lot of time or supplies -- a lot of pictures/images I found for my sister's card I found on the internet.

Have Fun!
