Questions to fill out in a family recipe scrapbook...?

I created a great family recipe book that will be a gift to my Aunt but it will be traveling around to all the "kids" (who are now all married and having kids and cooking) and we "kids" will be putting in the recipes and then it will go back to her.

As we put in the recipes I want us to answer questions that will make this an even more personal gift.

One question that I have in there already is "What makes food good?"  I wrote the first answer something to the effect of all the obvious of well cooked and good ingredients but also that it was what you wanted and it has something about it that you like... Well, it was a good answer in the book!

I need eight more... so what do you think are some questions that I could have in there for us to answer as we get the cook book.  Questions about food, or cooking, or eating that will really tell us about each

What food did you absolutely HATE as a kid and is now your favorite?

Is there a dish that has significant meaning in your life? Like did you get proposed to over a pizza? etc...

What kind of take-out do you always order?

What recipe is a definite 'no fail' crowd pleaser?

What is your favorite Christmas/Thanksgiving/birthday dish?

What food related traditions do you now have?

(for us, each child makes his own birthday cake and can decorate it any way he wants...it has proven to have some very 'interesting' looking birthday cakes over the years, but the birthday boy is very proud of every sprinkle and finger lick that is on that cake!)

Btw, awesome idea... I think I might do this next year.

This is EASY! Make a 6x6 book where you can get all the info on one page .. although I've seen them as 4x6 size too .. But it's HUGE on Yahoo Groups, there's group that swap nothing but these .. since hubbs is the cook, they don't really work for me, BUT I do like them for gifts! 6x6 is the most common size to swap to give. For me before I give as a gift is first, will she use the recipes? Does she like them? Is she the main cook. Now for me? That'd be a big fat no. But hubbs loves recipe books. So that's first, second it'd be a wonderful gift! Do a search online for recipe pages, there's TONS. I own a Scrapbook Yahoo Group and if you need any help, just email! mbfqueen @ yahoo . com Good Luck!

Don't ask specific questions at all ... just ask each contributor to write 'something related to food' for this book ... and while the 'original' book will go to your aunt, you should 'scan' the pages when it's done and get them 'bound' in some way and send a copy to each of the people (including yourself) who 'contribute' to this 'family recipe scrapbook' ... and that is a WONDERFUL idea for a book ... and one I may 'steal' and change to give to my husband, who is a 'retired chef' who really needs a 'good recipe book' that he can 'add recipes to' as well as take good ones from. THANK YOU.

What smells trigger hunger for you?

If you had to pick one food to eat for the rest of you life, what would it be and why?

Who do you try to be the most like while you are planning recipes and why?

That should get you started!! And BTW, that is a great idea!!
